1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Law Office of Farhad Ghaussy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to this website (www.pietas.law).

2. Information We Collect

We collect information only when you voluntarily provide it, primarily through our contact form:

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, phone number (if provided), and any message you include.
  • Automatically collected technical information: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, date/time), used only for basic site operation and security, plus information collected via Google Analytics (see “Analytics” section below).

We do not use this site to collect sensitive personal information, and you should not submit confidential or privileged information through the contact form (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry;
  • Determine whether we can assist with your legal matter; and
  • Maintain basic records of inquiries received.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information to third parties.

4. Spam Protection

Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3 to prevent automated spam submissions. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

4.a Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived at the site). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and browsing activity on this site. These analytics cookies are only set with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time using the cookie preferences banner on this site. Information collected is used in aggregate form and is not used to personally identify you.

Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your cookie preferences in your browser.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party providers to operate this site:

  • Domain registrar and web hosting provider (holding infrastructure necessary to keep the site online);
  • Client relationship management (CRM) software, which stores contact information and inquiry records on our behalf;
  • Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — site usage analytics — Google Privacy Policy;
  • Google reCAPTCHA (spam/bot filtering, see Section 4).

These providers may process limited technical data (such as IP address) as necessary to deliver their services, under their own privacy policies.

6. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Submitting the contact form, or otherwise communicating with us through this website, does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information until an attorney-client relationship has been formally established in writing.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information submitted through this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain the content of contact form messages for up to twelve months. We may retain your name, contact information, and a brief description of the matter longer, in our client relationship management system, so that we can check for conflicts of interest as required by professional responsibility rules.

This site is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

10. Your Choices

You may contact us at any time (see Section 12) to ask what information we hold about you or to request that we delete a prior inquiry from our records, where feasible and consistent with our recordkeeping obligations.
